COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE SOUTHERN KADUNA PEOPLE’S UNION (SOKAPU) NATIONAL ANNUAL YOUTH CONGRESS HELD ON FEBRUARY 25, 2017 AT ST. JOHN’S MULTIPURPOSE HALL, KACHIA, KADUNA STATE

PREAMBLE
On the 25th of February 2017, the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) Youth Wing organized a mega congress at the St. John’s multipurpose Hall, Kachia, Kaduna State. The objectives of the meeting were:
1. To convene a mega congress that will offer Southern Kaduna youths, under SOKAPU Youth Wing, the opportunity to engage their challenges and proffer constructive solutions.
2. To identify and discuss burning issues that border on security and governance as they affect our youths and Southern Kaduna in general.
3. To open Southern Kaduna Youths to economic opportunities.

OBSERVATIONS
The congress observed as follows:
1. The need for the Southern Kaduna people to unite and to speak with one voice cannot be overemphasized in confronting our individual and collective challenges.
2. The Southern Kaduna people have lost totally, their confidence in the ability of the government to protect the lives of people and property in Southern Kaduna.
3. The internally displaced persons in Southern Kaduna have not been adequately catered for by government, non-governmental organizations and international agencies.
4. Over the past two years very little impact have been felt in Southern Kaduna especially in infrastructure, economic growth and development.
5. For over two years now, government have been playing possum with the issue of local government elections in Kaduna State to the point of exhibiting brazen impunity by obeying nor appealing to the subsisting verdict in favour of the immediate conduct of the election.
6. The land grabbing exercise by the government of Kaduna State against the wishes of the people in the establishment of grazing reserves and other anti-people developments.
7. The closure of tertiary institutions of learning and the planned relocation of such institutions by the State government, to us, heralds the reality that end justifies the means as the intention remains clearly to under develop our communities.  

RESOLUTIONS
The congress resolves as follows:
1. To unanimously initiate and operationalize a community watch project to replicate that of the North East and Kaduna metropolis civilian joint task force towards effective policing of the Southern Kaduna communities.
2. In appraisal of the Southern Kaduna security breach we understand that our challenge is in inadequate structure of formations and command of the Nigerian Police Force in effective of the Southern Kaduna communities. To this end we call on the Federal Government to face this matter head on and rescind her decision to establishing two army battalions which we find counterproductive with the current military facilities in Southern Kaduna and environs is adequate with only a command structure of the NPF amiss to deal effectively with crime and security in the area.
3.  To write to the Federal and government of Kaduna State to halt the ongoing project on the establishment of grazing reserve or operations of same in Southern Kaduna as our communities have equivocally rejected the siting of such facilities in our land. We are however open to other agricbusinesses being driven by the Federal Government through the Agricultural Promotion Policy (APP).
4. To initiate and support litigations to challenge the impunity with which the Governor of Kaduna State has refused to adhere to the court ruling on local government elections in the state. It is also in the interest of this congress to advice the governor against the intended tactics to appeal on the ruling, long after two months of inaction as feet dragging effort to short change the people of their rightful mandate. We also decry the monumental corruption ongoing in the state where monies belonging to the local government such as excess crude revenues, value added tax, federal allocations fail to impact positively in communities across the state due to the overbearing possessiveness of the state government.
5. The executive committee of SOKAPU Youth Wing should engage all the legislative representatives at both state and federal level within the state in pursuant to item 4 above.
6. We call on the humanitarian agencies, non-governmental organizations such and other agencies of government to join in the efforts SOKAPU is making through her relief materials committee towards alleviating the sufferings and malnutrition challenges facing internally displaced persons in Southern Kaduna.
7. To engage and monitor the budget process and programme implementation in Kaduna State, Nigeria and to commence the preparation of the scorecard of budget performance.
8. To encourage and promote increased participation of Southern Kaduna youths in the economy, governance and politics of Nigeria.
9. In pursuance of economic growth we call on all Southern Kaduna people to invest in their land in agriculture, media, industries, security and other entrepreneurial pursuits.
10. To join voices with other nationalities in Nigeria on the demand that government should commence the process of implementing the National Conference 2014 report.
11. A vote of confidence was passes on the present executive committee of SOKAPU Youth Wing.

SOUTHERN KADUNA BE PROACTIVE NOT REACTIVE BY Jubal Free-man Dabo

Days ago we were threatened for telling you to defend yourselves, it was not just threads but an insult to our intellect that we preach hate speach.we have asked who ever is concern to define 'hate speech' within the context they use it to no avail. Sadly the blood never stopped flowing, your children, wives, youths, aged go down in their pool of blood and no 'love speech' masters is able to contest that. Much to wonder about is the stand of the same government that would better be defined as 'indifferent' to the plight of the victims and victims in waiting. Much more is the question; what is the government's or particularly Governor's take in this ugly thing happening around with us.
What government will be more interested in fighting the destractions than the real problem, what sort of government will focus on defending the cause than defining it truly as it is, what sort of government will be bend at arresting and prosecuting her critics while the criminal goes in peace to prepare for his next successful attack.
I stand without fear of contradiction to say all the efforts made by the Rufai and Buhari led government against the tragidy of southern Kaduna seems suiting the definition of the ancient Trojan horse gift. In Bakin Kogi where the school is made a temporal security base and students are unable to school, an attack goes unavarted as if to say 'Boko Haram ne'. Again, just a distance less than 8km to Ashin in Takad chiefdom of Kaura local government stands a military base at the Local government works office, with cool access road, an attack is carried out successfully as if to say 'a guard for the terrorist'. What could better define this scenario than 'the trojan horse?

The fear of El'rufai's threads is the beginning of dead, lost of properties and the joy of the terrorist. We must use all legal means to defend ourselfs as section 33.2 of the 1999 constitution says we should. Not to defend yourself is as good as committing suicide. The Governor had said you cannot defend yourself where there is a government. That is in fact very true. But sadly, we have no government as far as southern Kaduna is concern. When can we say we have a government, is it when they say they exist or when they are felt as existing?

Where is the government in our ordeal?
Where is the government anywhere around us?
Where is the government when our love ones are dying?
Where is the government where our properties are destroyed?
Where is the government when no one is telling the world the truth about us?
Where is the government when the terrorist verily walks in and out at will?
Where is the government with our journalist and other activist being arrested?
Where is the government when the terrorist is always protected?

No one calls you to kill but I call you to be proactive, and by proactive I mean, in as much as you will not kill, you must be smart enough not to allow yourself killed. You must be ahead of the terrorist. Before he pulls the trigger you should disarm him. It is not evil to attempt stopping evil but it is the highest evil to allow evil.

This is not a mystery, man has always men man but the one who falls prey to the enemy once should know better to jump and past each huddle without trying a show off of mastery.
The enemy is never successful but with with fear and poisonous friendship he is good as a year old victor. Don't let the enemy fool you, lead him through the limits of his foolishness still feeling he is with wit, just when his shoulders are high, his head large with glories of your supossed fall the call his attention and say "i had enjoy your folly show, wit is far from your reach, on the right is what you said is the truth, on the left is what i know to be the truth. Hello enemy, the game is off, it was fun, but i love you more though hate the thought of your content". Walk away watching him die humbeled in shame for he who refuses to live humble will sleep in shame as good as dead humbled.

It evident the Wind that blows suggests a politica era that appear a beginning to revolution the Nigerian citizinery needs which obviously the suposedly ruling class never dream it can happen given the nature of Nigeria, however, everyone is doing his best to project his goal in the fight, the opposition is pushing hard and the oppossed is defending hard her shecky seat. Given this setuation, everyone is seeking an opportunity to get back at his òpposser, while this is happening, oppotunist are taking advantage of the situation, desperate politician on the other hand using and in search of opportunities at whatever cause to win the struggle. Little wonder the game of blackmail and the likes.
What is worrisome is the attempt to use religion which of cause has bèen a vital tool of confusing Nigerians to get ends meet. This explains the mischievious use of the name CAN of recent which provocked a sense of pity for. Nigeria and Nigerians.

During Babangida Regime, he sold Nigeria to (Organisation of Islamic Conference) OIC" in other to islamize nigeria with an agreement. That OIC will be supporting Nigeria Financial & materialy to accomplish their Mission. And every year nigeria will be paying interest to OIC. So from IBB's regime nigeria has been paying, until 1999 Obasanjo who is a Christain came & stopped it for 8yr's of his Tenure. Then 2007 Yara'dua came in & paid the outstanding depth of OBJ to OIC, with an interest & apology, he also paid his own from 2007 - 2010 & died. Goodluck Jonathan came in & Stop it for 6yr's now! And OIC constitution said that any member Nations that Stoped, this payment for 10yr's, will be Automatically Excommunicated! Now GEJ has ruled nigeria from 6th may 2010 - 2015. He is seeking for 2nd Tenure that will make it 10yr's. So that Nigeria will be delivered from the Blood sucking Islamic Religion. Thats why APC presidential candidate Buhari has been fighting to rule nigeria since OBJ's regime till date. Remember Nigeria 100yr's centenary was in 2014. And any Religion that start to rule from this 2015 will take dominion till the next 100yr's.I am just revealing a secret to my fellow Christains to Vote for Religion. Forget BokoHaram. OIC masterminded it to distract us, it will soon be over. Nigeria did not have the monopoly of Terrorism, Irag, Iran, Afganistan, Egypt, Parkistan, Quate, somalia etc. All this Nation has been fighting Terrorism since 80s yet... IMPLICATIONs:
The post states that a Christian shòuld still maniten the presidential seat that the dept may not paid which is a yardstick for nullifying Nigerian's membership. The implication here is that of betrayal of the ideals of Christian teaching. He the author is suggestive of the fact that CAN identifies the organization of Islamic Countries as more powerful than God in that we have to manuver our way to get our nullified which presents us with a case of the inferior bowing to the superior even when the superior is wrong, this aloso suggests that CAN do not know the worth of her power which is superior to any earthly power not even the presidential power is worth comparison with that which is in us. It imples also that CAN trust more the power of the predidency than that which flows from her God. A case of misplaced identity.

My Point of View:
I feel a Christian is òne who is able to stand up strong in Faith against any prowling roaring lion (1pet. 5:8-9) and call a thing what it really is before whoever it may concern, rejecting evil frearlessly and suporting truth and fighting for it wisely in peace and bravity with total disregard to fear and earthly reward or punishment. Hence CAN will move for a gient withdrawal than the weak maradonic wait and achieve or wait till it comes style the post suggests. This will defind christianty as of cowardice. I will be very much disappointed at CAN were this to be truely authored by her authorities, however, the illogicalìty of the arguement safes the stress. This is because Christian spirit is not that of cawordice no that of timidity. Christ was not an opportunist no were his prophets, jùst as the father did not wait for the Lion of Egypt to die before taking his children out of Egypt so also Jesus did not seek for an opportunity before driving away the money changers from the temple. In that light, we see that what is good is good and evil is evil at all times in this context hence, a true Christian will fight evil the moment he understands it is evil without compromise and at whatever cost.
 A true Christian will look beyond the nose and vote a Christian at heart.
I am not saying we shòuld vote A nor be, what i feel is the critique shòuld be devoid of religion but creadibility and some resonable effords towards perfection.

WAY OUT:
Nigerians must grow beyond religious fanatism, we must play politics as a game not war, we must play this game on the pitch not battle ground, we must allow reason to stand out against emotions or any affilation. We must be quik at listening but slow at talking and progressive at applying what we hear, see and think as right with wit as higher above our istincts as possible.

WE WILL CHALLENGE THIS PURPORTED PLAN AGAINST SOUTHERN KADUNA IN KASU

Southern Kaduna has always been a victim of injustice in  the affairs of the state. It has come to our notice that there is a grand conspiracy to sideline its  qualified persons  from the  race  to occupy  the about to be Vacant position of the  register of KASU.

The Vision of those who created  the university  was for principal offices  ie Vice Chancellor,Bursar ,University  Librarian and the Registra to  be  shared/rotated  between the North and the Southern part of the state and that has been followed  uptill the last dispensation


But as it is now the former  Vice chancellor has been recently  replaced with a Prof from the Nothern part of the state  , the university  librarian and Bursar as well are persons from the Northern part.

The University  Register's tenure  is expiring in March and the body language of KASU’s governing council is showing that they are likely to appoint another person from the northern to  that position.


The Chairman governing council/Pro Chancellor Prof S U Abdullahi is a renowned bigot whose major achievement  is the  Islamization of  ABU Zaria  when he was Vice chancellor of the school and  was also  among those who stopped Prof. Andrew Nok from becoming a Vice Chancellor of ABU  in 2009.

As it is now, the present Registrar should have gone for his  terminal leave just like how Prof. Qurix did before the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor but rather he is still on sit for reasons we find very  hard to except.


The southern part of the state  have competent hands that are in line of succession from the current Registrar, but we doubt if due process ,principles of justice and equity will be followed in the selection process With the current gimmick going on especially since the current Register has not gone on his terminal leave as it is the norm .

 We which to bring this issue to the  Government of Kaduna state  and the general public as well as  show our discormfort and readiness to  challenge this purpoted plan in the event  the perpetrators do not backtrack.
